Below is a conversation we recently had with Kelly Vance – who is leading a breakout session on “Leveraging Your Best Platform.” Read on to learn more about her!
What are the top 3 things you want people to know about your organization or business?
- The rise of digital has made it possible for everyone to have a platform. You ARE the media. We are your news team for hire.
- Everyone has a platform, but you have to earn your audience. That’s our specialty.
- We’re passionate about our city and love to work on projects that move our community forward.
What’s the biggest trend nonprofits should be paying attention to with respect to social media?
Live-streaming. Donors want to see their contributions in action. Invite them for behind-the-scenes glimpses and answer their questions in real-time. Leave your talking points at the door. Live streaming works best when it’s unscripted.
If you had to choose only one social media tool to use each day, what would it be and why?
If you want to find out what people what to know about your industry, product, issue- AnswerthePublic.com is a great place to start.
Why should attendees come to your workshop?
Overwhelmed Executive Directors and Marketing Officers struggling to get their message “out there” will find my workshop beneficial.
LEVERAGING YOUR BEST PLATFORM
How should you allocate your marketing resources? Here, let me Google that for you. Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are great for building community, but too many of us are wasting time and money on platforms that will one day be obsolete. This session will illustrate how to turn your website into your most valuable media channel.
