Richmond Region Ranks High with Help of Nonprofits

This week Greater Richmond celebrated a number of rankings and awards. The City of Richmond is the 57th best place to live among the nation?s top 100 small and mid-sized cities according Livability.com. While we received top scores in Healthcare, Amenities and Education, we scored lowest in Economics and Housing. The good news is that part of the reason we are ranked competitively is we also have extraordinary people and organizations working on improving our communities and building on our existing strengths.

It comes as no surprise that Style Weekly?s Top 40 Under 40 once again features a large contingent of young people who work in the nonprofit or government sectors or who volunteer and advocate for social causes. From arts and culture to housing and homelessness, these rising leaders are forging their own paths as they address community issues. ConnectVA will celebrate them at the YNPN RVA & Style Weekly Top 40 Under 40 Nonprofit Spotlight on Tuesday, November 12 at 5:30 at the Library of Virginia.

With the work of these award-winning individuals and teams plus countless civic-minded people across the region, it will also be no surprise if Richmond?s Livability ranking improves next year.
