How to Manage Items Needed/Available

→For Organizations

Organizations have the option to post items available or needed in the Item Exchange.

Please do NOT post volunteer needs or availability. Please do NOT post requests for financial donations.

Post/Manage Items Available OR Needed

If you would like to post an item available or needed in ConnectVA’s Item Exchange section, you will first need to Register or Login.
Once logged in, Expand your Dashboard, and click on Post Items Needed/Available.

Under Post As, choose your organization, then choose Available or Needed.

Enter Item Title, set Feature Image, describe the item(s) in the Content section, enter Contact Information, Classification, Location, set Post As (your organization name), and set ad Duration. Then, click on Save Changes.

Important: If you are posting on behalf of your organization, you will need to navigate to your Organization profile to view/edit the posting. Steps follow.

You may view/edit the Item by returning to your Dashboard, click on Manage Organization, click on your Organization name, click on the Manage tab, then click on Items. You should see your Item listed there, and you will have the option to Edit, Copy, or Delete items.

→For Businesses

Businesses only have the option to post items available in the Item Exchange. 

Post/Manage Items Available
If you would like to post an item available in ConnectVA’s Item Exchange section, you will first need to Register or Login.
Once logged in, Expand your Dashboard, and click on Post Items Needed/Available.

Under Post As, choose your business. Available will be the only option.

Enter Item Title, set Feature Image, describe the item(s) in the Content section, enter Contact Information, Classification, Location, set Post As (you have the option to donate the item as an individual or an organization), and set ad Duration. Then, click on Save Changes.

Important: If you are posting on behalf of your business, you will need to navigate to your Business profile to view/edit the posting. Steps follow.

You may view/edit the Item by returning to your Dashboard, click on Manage Business, click on your Business name, click on the Manage tab, then click on Items. You should see your Item listed there, and you will have the option to Edit, Copy, or Delete items.

→For Individuals

Individuals only have the option to post items available in the Item Exchange. 

Post/Manage Items Available
If you would like to post an item available in ConnectVA’s Item Exchange section, you will first need to Register or Login.
Once logged in, Expand your Dashboard, and click on Post Items Needed/Available.

If you are an admin of an organization or business listing, you will have the option to post as yourself (user) or your organization/business. If you are posting as yourself, Available will be the only option.

Enter Item Title, set Feature Image, describe the item(s) in the Content section, enter Contact Information, Classification, Location, set Post As (your name), and set ad Duration. Then, click on Save Changes.

You should see your Item listed, and you will have the option to Edit item, End item, or Delete item.

Add Items to ConnectVA

If you elect to End an item, you will be able to see the ended item in the Ended Items tab. You have the option to renew the ad for up to 4 weeks.
